Scrapbooking// Hello Adventure

Oh, the beautiful adventures our little family has shared so far, and the wonderful ones yet to come... So grateful for my handsome boys and my sweet Dolly puppy. Love this photo of us down on the farm, in our sunny yellow VW bus, by the talented Heather Bybee.

Thanks for looking!

Scrapbooking// A Day at the Fair

It's no secret... we love the fair! We were so sad that the weekend we had planned on taking Max to his first State Fair was spent in the pediatric unit instead. It was anything but fun and games. I kind of can't wait to take him next year...

Here's a peek at my layout of last year's Utah State Fair featured in this month's Creating Keepsakes digital Magazine.

This layout features the design trend "ombre" in the faded title, embellishing, and background paper design. To create the custom ombre title, I simply dyed white thickers with Studio Calico Mister Huey's spray mist and a bit of white craft paint. Easy peasy.

Workspace Wednesday// Take a Peek

Every week Marcy Penner shows a little peek into her craft room workspace. Today she has a video tour of her space up on Studio Calico. Um, hello... so beautiful and inspiring!

and here's a peek into a little corner of my space...

Just a few supplies I've been using on some project life spreads. I'll be sharing them tomorrow so be sure to check back!  Thanks for taking a look!

and yes... that is Studio Calico Mister Hueys white spray mist all over my typewriter;)

Scrapbooking// La Jolla// Color Combos Galore

I joined up with Color Combos Galore to play along with their monthly scrapbooking challenges.

Here is the inspiration board ...
Color Combos Galore

And here is my page...

Supplies Used:
Cardstock and Patterned paper: Crate Paper, Bazzill Basics, American Crafts, Sassafras; Thickers: American Crafts; Chipboard buttons: My Minds Eye; Candy buttons: Basic Grey; Label Sticker: My Minds Eye; Pearls: Crystal Stickers; Washi Tape: Love My Tapes; Chevron Wood Veneer: Studio Calico; Paper clip: Close to my Heart; doilie; tickets; typewriter; bakers twine

I love yellow and pink together! It's such a fresh and cheerful color combination! The mixed textures and patterns in the photo of the bedding inspired the combination of patterned papers, textured cardstock, and embellishments I used on my page.

PS: My bakers twine got slightly askew when I was photographing this page... but I am too pregnant to bend over and fuss with such things right now. Oh well.

Scrapbooking// One Hour Challenge// Be Free

Today I gave myself a creative challenge to complete a page from start to finish in under an hour. I also tried to limit myself to using only the supplies that were already on my desk. (Clearly I need to clean my desk...) I ended up adding a bit of washi tape and a few brads to the mix, but other than that, everything was already within an arms reach. The photos and title kind of sum up how I've been feeling lately--it feels so good to just be free and embrace all that life has to offer me right now! Come what may and love it!

Supplies Used:
Cardstock and Patterned Paper: Dear Lizzy for American Crafts, Maggie Holmes for Crate Paper, Fancy Pants; Thickers Foam Letters: American Crafts; Letter Stickers: October Afternoon Mini Market; Brads: Close to My Heart; Wood Veneer Chevrons: Studio Calico; Spray Mist: Mister Hueys for Studio Calico; Washi Tape: American Crafts; Doilie; Machine Stitching

Scrapbooking// Life is an Adventure// Glitz Design Contest

I discovered Glitz Design through Instagram. The Glitz girls are so nice and down to earth! I've been loving their products for a couple of months now, and I was so excited to find their new line at my local scrapbooking store. Over at the Glitz Design blog they are teaming up with Gossamer Blue for a guest designer contest. Since I had just picked up some cute new Glitz products I thought I'd join the challenge...

I love the woodgrain paper and quote about adventure--the moment I saw them I knew they would make a perfect page about Danny. I love this photo of him! For my 30th birthday he surprised me with a little weekend adventure in Park City--we had so much fun! He brings out the adventurous side in me and I love that about him!

Supplies Used:

Cardstock and Patterned Paper: Uncharted Waters and Color Me Happy Collections by Glitz Design , Dear Lizzy Lucky Charm by American Crafts, Darling Dear collection by Studio Calico; Washi tape: American Crafts; Enamel Dots: My Minds Eye; Paper Clip: Close To My Heart; Wood Veneer Chevron Snippets: Studio Calico; Precision Pen: American Crafts; Adhesive: Tombow
