Growing Up// 4 Months

Four months ago today, the most beautiful miracle came into my life. I couldn't be more happy to see my little Maxwell growing and thriving. He is such a strong and persistent little boy. I admire his patience, cheerful spirit, and determination.

Currently:
He melts my heart with every smile and bright-eyed look.
He loves cuddling with Pooh Bear.
Spends lots of time giggling and smiling at his toys.
Loves reading stories and singing songs with Mommy.
Loves sucking his thumb.
Is fascinated with lights, fans, and Dolly.
Has discovered his tongue, hair, and toes.
Is the best sport, even with his persistent acid reflux.
Loves to be held, but enjoys playtime on the floor as long as we are close by.
Will only sleep in my lap from four am on... sometimes earlier.
Is happiest in the morning and evening when he sees his Daddy.
Has lost most of the thick brown hair on top of his head.
Still wears some newborn clothes, but fits his 0-3 month clothing well.
Coos and talks all the time. We have the best conversations, but he saves some secrets for his bears, Henry and MaGroo.
Has the most wonderfully chubby cheeks-- it's such a joy to see him go from 4 lbs to a healthy growing boy
Continues to be the best thing that has ever happened to us.

I love my Max.

Life Through the Lens// Life Through New Eyes

This little mister loves to be outside! He just looks around, smiling and cooing at everything he sees. I love watching him discover the world, and seeing the wonder in his eyes as he takes it all in. One of my favorite things to do is look at what he is so enthralled with and try to see it through new eyes myself... The sunlight illuminating the leaves on a tree, the colors and illustrations in a book we are reading, the texture of the fabric on a quilt he's laying on... It's exactly the same thing I love about photography, the way it challenges me to see life through new eyes. We've got a world of beautiful things to discover together.

Life Through the Lens// The Hands that Hold my Heart

Because I can't get enough of those chubby little hands, or those strong hands that both swallow mine up, and yet they are a perfect fit. Someday those little hands may be a bit more reluctant to hold Mama and Daddy's hands, and so we cherish these moments and hold on a little longer as often as we can.

These are the hands that hold my heart.

Life Through the Lens// Summer Carnival

It's no secret... Danny and I love a good carnival! Max has been to two city carnivals this summer, and I'm pretty sure he loves them too. Next month is the State Fair and we are excited...

So many photos to scrapbook, so little time.

Life Through the Lens// Our Boy is Very Loved

Just popping in to share a few quick photos. This week while Max napped I've been busy working on some deadlines for a new scrapbooking design job with Provo Craft... I'm so excited to share more about it soon!

I love these snapshots from the Fourth of July of Max with his cousin Mayzie and his Daddy. You don't even have to see their faces to be able to tell that all of their attention and adoration was turned towards little Max... Our sweet boy is very loved. He has lots of cousins, aunties and uncles, and grandparents who simply adore him; and of course a mommy, daddy, and doggie who love him to the moon and back too!

Life Through the Lens// Naptime

This little boy. Goodness... Words can't express just how much I love every little thing about him. I guess that's why I take so many photos... because perhaps a photograph can say what I have yet to find the words to articulate.

I love watching him sleep; seeing him so peaceful and content. He smiles and giggles in his sleep, and I can't help but wonder what he must be dreaming about. I love that he is learning to hold his toys, and that he keeps a firm grip on them while he rests...

He would still much rather take all his naps in my arms, and I am more than happy to oblige as often as possible, but it is nice when he is willing to let me lay him down long enough to get a few things done around the house, catch up on some scrapbooking, or snuggle with Dolly and get a little rest myself. We like naptime.

Around Here// I'm Back!!

After dealing with a computer that wouldn't work for the last two months it is finally back in working order! I don't even know where to begin... so many photos, stories, and moments to remember! I guess I'll just pick up with a few favorite photos of my sweet little family enjoying some amazing summer evenings at the park.
