Memory Keeping // Project Life

Another look at our story this year so far... April is our big month with Easter, our anniversary, and the boy's birthdays. And... Max and I were sick the entire month! Boo. Nevertheless I love that I was still able to capture so many of our fun moments and I can look back and smile at all the fun we had. The baby animals on the farm, the darling airplane teeter totter we gave Max for his birthday, and the little moments enjoying dandilions and spring blossoms.

May started off with a fun visit from Aunt Steph! More pages of our weekend adventures with the whole family together still to come. Max also inherited a new (to him) race car big boy bed. He enjoys naps and playing pretend on it, though we are still working on completely transitioning him to it from the crib.

I just love the ease of Project Life.

Memory Keeping // Project Life// Moments Like These

The amazing Liz Tamanaha (designer of the beloved Midnight Edition Project Life Core Kit) has done it again! She teamed up with Stampin Up to design this beautiful new kit "Moments Like These" and I must say it totally lives up to the Midnight Edition in style and ease of use! I loved getting a chance to work with this new kit! Black and white with little pops of sage and red... just so good! You can purchase the kit and all the pretty extras from Stampin up, or enjoy the digital version via the Project Life ap. I'm sold. Go get your hands on it and you will be too!

Memory Keeping// Project Life

I can't believe how behind I am at posting here on this sad little neglected blog. It's been a long month and a half of sickness, chronic fatigue, launching my Love A Flair button business, and most importantly, living life and being Max's mom... Needless to say, blogging wasn't at the top of the list, but here I am and hopefully I can catch up quickly!

Thought I'd jump back into things with some of my favorite recent Project Life spreads. I'm seriously such a fan of Project Life. It has become my main source of memory keeping and my favorite creative way to share our stories. I love my past as a traditional 12x12 professional scrapbooker, but it's getting harder to keep up with scrapbooking our day to day life in that format. At least for now. Project Life works for my lifestyle and just really appeals to my style. I'm so glad it allows me the creative ability to share our pictures and stories in a pretty way, without the guilt of getting behind! I'm also really leaning to more of a simple clean style-- less embellishing, lots of white space, and more focus on the photos and journaling.

Also... those black, white, and gold spreads are totally my jam and I'm pretty sure you'll be seeing more of that here in the coming weeks.

Thanks for looking!!

Memory Keeping// Project Life// Travel

Okay... in just over one month's time I am completely finished documenting all of our photos from our trip to Florida. And I am almost up to date documenting our day to day life since we've been back. (so get ready for more photos!) Knowing that all of my favorite photos and stories so far from this year are already recorded feels great!

I can't say enough about how much I love Project Life and having the chance to be on the 2015 design team. Project Life makes it possible for me to continue my love affair with scrapbooking without neglecting my day to day schedule as a mom... wife... adventurer.

I take a lot of pictures. It's my passion! I just can't imagine leaving them on my hard drive or iPhone where they could never be seen or enjoyed. Whether you are like me, and take way too many pictures, or only take them now and then, do yourself a favor and print those photos! Even better, get yourself a Project Life album and tuck those photos and the stories away in your album. Leave it out where your family can enjoy the memories. My little boy flips through the pages of our books all the time... sticky peanut butter hands and all. There's nothing better than sharing those sweet memories with the ones you love.

PS... You see that cute "Magic" Flair button on the final spread... I design Flair embellishments for your scrapbooking and Project Life pages. More to come on that soon. Interested in custom designs? Let me know!

Project Life 2015 Creative Team// Weeks 1-2

I am so honored to be a member of Becky Higgins Project Life 2015 Creative Team! I just feel so blessed to share our stories with others who love Project Life too. It's such a perfect solution for me.

I love a good 12x12 scrapbook page. I worked as a professional scrapbooker for several years, and I still get giddy over a great new layout... but I just couldn't keep up-to-date with our stories in that format.

A few years ago I found myself lost in piles of photos, photos that I knew where meaningful in the moment I took them, but by the time I got to scrapbooking it, the memories had faded and I didn't really have the same enthusiasm about telling the story behind the moment captured... "Now when was this?" "I can't remember exactly what was so funny about this picture..." "Where were we again?"

You get the idea.

I will always love traditional scrapbooking, and it works great for special photos and creative ideas, but not my everyday memory keeping. Enter Project Life.

I found a perfect solution in Project Life, created by the oh so lovely Becky Higgins. Project Life makes it possible for me to tell the little day to day stories in an organized fashion while still letting me show my creativity with trendy pocket cards and the occasional embellishment. I just love printing my photos, tucking them away in those little plastic pockets and jotting down my memories while they are fresh. Because of Project Life the last three years of our family's stories are completely up to date! Stories that are so important to me and my little family.

So... I hope you join me this year for lots of fun inspiration and ideas about photography and documenting your memories with Project Life. I can't wait to share more!!

Memory Keeping// Project Life 2014

As promised, here is another look at our year in photos, Project Life style. I only have about 45 more spreads to photograph and share;)

I love seeing these photos from January! I can't believe how much my little Max has grown in less than a year's time. These pages are well loved, and not just by me... Max is always flipping through the album pointing to Mama, Dadda, and Doll Doll. I love that he enjoys seeing our photos and learning from them.

More to come!

Memory Keeping// Project Life

What do I do with all those photos I take? I print them. I write about our stories. When time and creativity permit I create traditional 12x12 scrapbook pages... but always, I can always find time and enthusiasm to put them in our Project Life album. As you may know, we didn't have Internet for a better part of the year, so I fell behind in posting my photos here, but I have kept up with our album and I am excited to share a look at our year in Project Life here again! These were just a few favorites that I had photographed... I'll be posting the rest in order.

Thanks for looking!

Joining up with Marcy Penner for another week of Workspace Wednesday. I am dying over her Project Life card organization! Drool.

Sorry I've been gone for a few days! We have officially moved in to our new home and I'm starting to get organized in my new craft room! I'm excited to show the progress here with you each week. I am loving all the shelves and extra space! I can't wait to get all moved in and start creating! YAY!!!

Project Life// Featured

I was so excited to have one of my Project Life spreads featured over on Rebecca Cooper's blog Simple As That for her Saturday link-up party. Thanks again Rebecca!
We've been busy packing everything up and getting ready for a move to our new home next week. (We got a home!!!) Most of my craft supplies are all boxed up, but I just haven't been able to put away my Project Life essentials--album, core kits, typewriter. I think I'll be hand-carrying it all straight into my new craftroom... You just can't risk misplacing items of such importance.

Life From the Passenger Seat// VW Makeover// Project Life

One Saturday morning in August, Danny and I were daydreaming about the carefree adventures we wanted to take as a family.... Somewhere in the conversation the idea of buying and restoring an old VW bus came up...  Before I knew it, we were test driving a few old Transports around town. Within a few weeks, our little daydream was a reality.
Danny has been working on our sunny little bus in his spare time ever since, and hopefully 2014 will allow us a chance to set out on the road for an adventure. We've got some pretty fun plans for this baby.

My Danny brings out the adventurous side of me, and I like that.

Project Life// Sept 7-13, Quite a Week.

Just popping in to share another week in our lives and piece of our story... this spread is about the week Max started struggling with his health in September. It was quite a week. One I think I'll never forget. It started out so happy... with little M rolling over for the first time Tuesday morning. Then he didn't seem to have the energy to roll over the next day, and some scary symptoms started to appear. Things got pretty frightening from there on out. I am just so unbelievably grateful he made it through everything and is starting to make some improvements. He is so strong.

Thanks for looking.

Project Life// A Look at our Story

As promised, I've got a whole lot of Project life photos that I've been needing to catch up on posting... and there are more coming. I'm not gonna lie, with a high risk pregnancy I couldn't bend down to arrange my photos and photograph them properly. And obviously, after my sweet little Max came, he required all of my time and energy. I still need to finish his birth story spreads, but other than that, I've actually managed to keep up to date! Thank you Project Life...
Honestly, the last several months have not been easy with Max's health challenges, and the fact that I've been able to keep on top of documenting our story is amazing. I'm in love with Project Life. It just works for me! The accessibility of core kits at local scrapbooking stores could not have been timed any better, as I (nerdy here) anxiously awaited both the arrival of our little Max and PL at Hobby Lobby. I love that I can dress the pages up if I have a little more time, but I can also just slip the photos and cards in the page protectors while the little man is napping and it still looks beautiful!

I've got a lot more pages coming and a system figured out to streamline the process of sharing Project Life posts weekly here...
